Kinderwood Toys is a family-run business that specialises in traditional toys and games. We focus on finding the unusual and the very beautiful; the kind of vintage toy you have fond memories of playing with a long time ago.
Almost all of our toys are made from natural materials to allow children to fully engage all their senses while creatively exploring the world. You will not find any primary coloured plastic here and batteries do not need to be included!
We have a large selection of wooden toys from sustainable sources. Wood is natural and regenerative; it has its own unique texture and grain. Each wood has a different sound, shade and weight, it even has its own temperature. If a wooden toy breaks, you can mend it and it’s recyclable.
We choose our manufacturers with care and have a preference for UK based suppliers and craftspeople who are keen to continue the tradition of hand-crafted toys. Where products are made in developing countries we are assured that workers are over 18, fairly paid and work in safe conditions.
Finally as a family-run business we offer a personal service. We are happy to answer questions about our products or make recommendations. We have two young children and combined with cousins and friends we have an extensive team of testers!
